Aldeguer to Pramac for 2025 MotoGP Debut

Spanish Moto2 sensation, Fermin Aldeguer, is set to make his MotoGP debut in 2025 with the Pramac Racing Team, a satellite team with close ties to the Ducati factory. This move comes after Ducati solidified their future with Aldeguer following a stellar 2023 Moto2 season where he finished third overall with five wins, including the last four races.

Aldeguer was previously linked to a MotoGP move in 2024, attracting interest from VR46 Racing Team and even Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) after Marc Marquez's departure. However, a penalty clause in his Moto2 contract with Speed Up and Ducati's uncertainty surrounding a potential VR46-Yamaha alliance ultimately led them to choose Pramac for his development.

This decision opens the door for Jorge Martin to remain with Pramac in 2024, likely for his final year with the team. Martin had a clause in his contract guaranteeing a promotion to the factory Ducati team if he won the 2023 championship. However, his runner-up finish wasn't enough, and he expressed his belief that he may never be promoted based on his current performance.

While Martin's future remains uncertain, Ducati's commitment to Aldeguer signals their long-term vision. With Enea Bastianini's factory Ducati contract expiring in 2024, Aldeguer is well-positioned to potentially take his place in the premier class team in 2025. Pramac, meanwhile, will unveil their 2024 livery in Bahrain this week, marking the beginning of a new chapter with a promising young rider on the horizon.
