Post Mbappe Plan: Simons, Salah, Silva

Feb 20, 2024Author: Klind Parangoni

The 2024-2025 will be a lot diferent for PSG season without Kylian Mbappe since 2017 when he joined the Parisians from long-time rivals Monaco. With Mbappe out, the Parisian club will strive to add numerous players to bolster the squad overall, not only in the offensive department. PSG will sign one or two attackers in the upcoming market and strengthen the midfield and defense.

A Planned Scenario without Mbappe

PSG has been working for quite some time pessimistically believing Mbappe will not sign with French giants. His decision to communicate his future with the club, refurbished the whole psychology of the decision-makers. Now the club needs to focus on the team rather than a star.

The gap that the french prodigy will leave behind will be quite a challenge for PSG to be filled. In Paris a strong belief is on Zaire-Emery and Barcola. The club is thinking of bringing back Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

An Attach with NO Mbappe

Reports from L'Equipe the Parisians wil go and pursue the Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who has a contract with Napoli until 2026. To complicate things Aurelio De Laurentiis president of Italian club has always been hard to deal and Premier League teams are entering the race for the striker's services. PSG are also interested in Mohamed Salah from Liverpool and Rafael Leao of AC Milan.

A long awaited coming has been Bernardo Silva, who extended his contract with Manchester City until 2026. Also Joshua Kimmich,  whose situation has been getting worse at Bayern Munich is a possible addition to the parisian club.

Indeed, PSG had already taken that into account during the previous winter transfer window. One of the players highlighted in the French newspaper is Gavi, the midfielder from Barcelona.

Regarding the defense, 18-year-old center-back Leny Yoro from Lille is a potential addition to PSG's backline after catching the eye of Real Madrid's sporting management. The defender's market value is estimated at approximately 60 million euros.
