Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was unfortunately was wounded in the crossfire of a shooting at a Florida party on Saturday Night. Thankfully, he sustained only minor injuries and has already been released from the hospital.
According to reports, a 16-year-old male opened fire at Cabana Live nightclub in Sanford, Florida during a private party. Ten people, including Tank Dell, were wounded in the Florida shooting incident. Thankfully, none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Authorities reported that the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that escalated out of control. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office stated they were already headed to Cabana Live due to reports of a large crowd when the shooting occurred. Thankfully, their swift response helped disperse the remaining crowd.
The Houston Texans confirmed that Dell was involved in the shooting and sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, he received medical attention and was quickly released from the hospital.
The Texans selected Tank Dell in the 2023 NFL Draft with the 69th overall pick. He was having a promising rookie season with 47 receptions for 709 yards and 7 touchdowns before a fractured fibula in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos sidelined him for the rest of the year.
Dell underwent surgery to repair the fibula and was expected to be ready for training camp leading into the 2024 season. This unfortunate incident may temporarily impact his training schedule, but hopefully he will make a full recovery.
