Tiger Woods commitment to playing one PGA Tour event per month has hit a snag. Despite initial hopes, Woods will not be teeing off at the Valspar Championship, effectively eliminating any chance of him competing in March. Tiger Woods could potentially also have back issues.

This news came as the PGA Tour finalized the field for the Valspar Championship. Woods absence before the entry deadline dashed any remaining optimism for a pre-Masters warm-up tournament. Notably, the Valspar Championship hasn't been a regular stop for Woods. His sole appearance came in 2018, where he shared second place.

The following tournaments on the calendar, the Houston Open and the Valero Texas Open, are also seemingly off the table for Woods. He hasn't competed in the Valero Texas Open since way back in 1996.

Back Issues Continue to Plague Tiger Woods

While Woods did participate in the Seminole Pro-Member, finishing T44, his physical condition remains a question mark, particularly regarding his back. During the Genesis Invitational, Tiger Woods hinted at back issues that seem to be ongoing.

Woods openly admitted that his back wasn't at its best during the Riviera event, suggesting persistent physical limitations.

"My back spasmed on it," he explained. "It had been spasming over the last three holes, and it just locked up on me and didn't move, didn't rotate."

Future Tournaments and Involvement Remain Unclear

Despite speculation about potential appearances at the Arnold Palmer Invitational or THE PLAYERS Championship, Woods hasn't confirmed participation in any upcoming events.

Reports suggest a possible meeting between Woods and PIF officials at the PGA Tour headquarters, sparking rumors about potential discussions regarding his future involvement in golf.
