The PGA Tour season rolls on this week with the Valspar Championship, held at the renowned Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. While the purse might be smaller following the massive payouts at Bay Hill and The Players Championship, the Valspar Championship still boasts a strong field with plenty to watch.

Strong Field Takes Center Stage at the Valspar Championship

Five players currently ranked inside the world's top 20 will be teeing off for their share of the $1.512 million winner's purse. British Open champion Brian Harman is the tournament's lone representative from the top 10, while a late withdrawal from Patrick Cantlay earlier this week shook things up a bit.

Defending champion Taylor Moore will be looking to repeat his victory from last year. He'll face stiff competition from past champion Jordan Spieth (2015), who's hungry for redemption after a disappointing missed cut at The Players. Spieth won't be alone in seeking a turnaround, as Justin Thomas, another player coming off a missed cut at The Players, will also be in the field.

The pressure is on for some players outside the top 50 in the world rankings, as valuable Masters berths are on the line this week. Players like Tom Hoge and Christiaan Bezuidenhout will be fighting tooth and nail for every point to secure their spot in the upcoming major championship.

The legendary Copperhead Course, a Florida favorite known for its challenging layout, will provide a fierce test for the golfers this week. Tournament officials awarded a sponsor exemption to European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, the 2012 champion here, adding another layer of intrigue to the competition.

The PGA Tour won't be taking a break next week. The players will head to Texas for the Texas Children's Houston Open, ensuring another exciting week of golf action.
